ABOUT THE EVENT
Supply chain professionals, especially in manufacturing and logistics, rely heavily on Canada’s ports every day. Ports create connections in the supply chain and gateways that bring imports to market, making them a vital part of Canada’s economy.
A report from Transport Canada said, “In 2017, ports and marine shipping carried almost $90 billion (17 per cent) of Canada’s exports to world markets and brought in $110 billion (21 percent) of Canada’s total imports by value.”
But how much do western Canadians really understand about our ports, their capabilities, and their future role in Canada’s global supply chain? Attendees of this Supply Chain Week session heard directly from senior executives from Stewart World Port, Port of Vancouver, Port Saint John, Halifax Port Authority (HPA), and Port of Montreal to learn about how ports operate and the critical role they will play in Canada’s economic future.
